CAUGHT! This is an Ogre-Faced Net-casting Spider headband fascinator designed and made by me. It is made of a plush filled felted spider, with felted segmented wire legs, and two black peering stone bead eyes. The face is further embellished with felted fanged chelicerae and pedipalps. The front two legs of the spider casts a white net veil over it's wearer, all points hand sewn and felted. The piece secured with either a black satin ribbon headband (with two clips attached to the back legs for securing support so that the spider can be positioned at the back or on top of the head) or no fastening/netting for desk decor!
Ogre-faced spiders (Deinopis) are part of a family of spiders that hunt by casting a web net onto their prey. Here is a video of this amazing spider in action! https://youtu.be/5OfQkImeyMY
